Mirage can use your backend’s search, queries and metadata to answer shell commands with fewer requests and downloads. For example, grep can use a RAG index to find candidate documents, and head can fetch a few database rows without reading the whole table. Supported VFS types already connect these capabilities where available. For a custom VFS, implement the methods in each guide. Mirage handles command options and formatting, and uses ordinary file reads or directory listings when a capability cannot answer.
