Grok Build

Way	Grok Build gets	Needs

Install

Install Grok Build separately; its command is grok. FUSE also needs the mirage CLI:

uv tool install 'mirage-ai[fuse]'

npm install -g @struktoai/mirage-cli

Workspace

MCP

Install the Mirage plugin:

grok plugin install strukto-ai/mirage

It adds a filesystem skill, a VFS authoring skill and an MCP server that runs npx -y @struktoai/mirage-cli mcp on your project’s .mirage/workspace.yaml. Open /plugins in grok to check that it is on.

FUSE

Install your platform’s FUSE driver. With npm on macOS, also follow the macFUSE 4 workaround. Then expose the workspace at a local folder:

mirage workspace create .mirage/workspace.yaml --id demo
cd /tmp/mirage-demo && grok

File operations inside /tmp/mirage-demo go through Mirage. The mount does not restrict the agent’s access to other host paths. mirage workspace delete demo unmounts it. On macOS the daemon holds one FUSE mount at a time.
