Read Trello boards, lists, labels, cards and comments, and create, update, move, assign, label and comment on cards. Mirage defines this command tree over the Trello REST API; every command prints normalized JSON for jq.

Setup

Create an API key and token using Trello setup.
No service mount is required. For YAML and multiple accounts, see the CLI overview.

Supported commands

Run trello <command> --help for the supported flags and operands. This list is generated from Mirage’s registered command tree.

Find work

Reads take a board, list or card ID as a positional operand. The Trello VFS embeds each ID after the last __ of a directory or file name.

Update cards

Writes take every ID as a flag. A description or comment comes from --desc or --text, from the file --desc_file or --text_file names, or from stdin; --desc '' clears a description. --closed true, 1 or yes archives a card and any other value restores it. Each write prints the card or comment it changed.

Scope, VFS and limits

The CLI uses its own account config and needs no Trello mount.
  • workspaceId and boardIds narrow the CLI as they narrow the mount: trello board list shows only the boards in scope, and a board, list or card ID on a board outside them is refused before any read or write (trello card show: card crd_009 is outside the configured scope, exit 1).
  • --desc_file and --text_file read a workspace file through the session, from any mount the session can read.
  • A read-only Trello mount does not make the CLI read-only: the CLI consults no mount. Use command policy, such as a profile rule denying trello card create, to restrict writes.
  • API failures exit 1 with Trello’s error.
This is Mirage’s Apache-2.0 command implementation for the REST API. No compatibility with a separate Trello CLI is claimed; the API link documents the service rather than an upstream CLI implementation. See compatibility and licenses.
