# SSH

> Access a remote directory as workspace files over SFTP.

SSH mounts a directory from a remote server. You need an SSH account with
access to that directory and an SFTP-enabled server. Available in Python
and Node.

## Configuration

Set the server, username, key and remote directory:

```yaml theme={null}
mounts:
  /remote:
    vfs: ssh
    mode: read
    config:
      host: server.example.com
      username: deploy
      identity_file: ~/.ssh/id_ed25519
      root: /srv/data
```

`ls /remote` lists the remote directory. Set `mode: write` to allow changes,
subject to the SSH account's permissions.
