# Python

> Set up the Python command runtime in either Mirage SDK.

    Monty is the default. Install its extra:

    ```bash theme={null}
    pip install 'mirage-ai[monty]'
    ```

    WASI, Sandlock, and the host interpreter are optional alternatives. See
    the [Python runtime reference](/python/runtime/python).

    Pyodide is the default. Install its package:

    pnpm add pyodide
    ```

    Monty is an optional alternative:

    ```bash theme={null}
    pnpm add @pydantic/monty
    ```
